Code of Conduct

Detroit: Final Nights is only a game. Let's say that one more time. Detroit: Final Nights is only a game. The following should be a no-brainer. But for the sake of argument, we repeat them here for you
- Books. Books. Books. Enough said.
- Keep the open rooms where anyone can walk in at a reasonable level folks. Don't care if you and so-an-so are madly in love, don't need to see you getting jiggy with it. Wouldn't like to see it in public, surely wouldn't like to see it in an opened room. To steal that old saying with a twist, "Whatever happen in your pad, stays in your pad."
- Fade-to-Black. Players have the right to request anything they are uncomfortable with to be Faded-to-Black. Respect their desires, you found pushing the card, you could be found pouding at the door wishing to get back in.
- Lets keep the OOC room clean. No need for the foul-language. Just that simple, let's have a little respect for the chat and for the new folks that come popping in. First impressions means everything. We will provide a gutter -Detroit OOC Champagne Lounge- room for those who are wanting to tell that dirty joke.
- IC Actions = IC Consequences. Repeat, IC Actions = IC Consequences. You do something stupid, expect there to be reprocussions, either from the NPC or the PC you allienated IC. Do not, I repeat, do not come crying to the Storyteller over something you don't like going on against your character IC. IF the Storyteller ask the Player involved and it's all IC-happenin', that there ends that investigation. No player will be penalized for role-playing their character. This is the World of Darkness afterall.
- Keep IC, IC and keep the OC, OC. What this means, let's keep the line between asking some questions OC about what so-and-so knows IC and being asked to be taught it. That's a serious nono and won't be tolerated. You want your character to learn something from so-and-so, then go ask them IC don't harrass them about it OC.
- Let's face it, Storytellers are the law here. It does no one any good arguing over rulings or character sheet matter with a Storyteller. They aren't paid to be here. They are volunteers here who have given up their time to do this particular dirty job. You don't want to get into a heated argument during sanctioning, make sure you have abided by the rules for the venue. These rules have been placed there for a reason. During a Scene if a Storyteller gives you an outcome you don't like, deal with it after the scene instead of making a big stink out of it during the scene. If it was a simple mistake on the Storyteller part, easily to fix up once the scene is concluded. Storytellers should hold the same respect towards the players as well, you are not here to be insulting, rude, offensive, vulgar towards a player just as we do not expect such action from a player directed towards a Storyteller. Let's remain adults here folks, if both sides can't deal with the problem, then turn towards the Admin of the Chat who happens to be the Problem-Solver for Detroit.
- No advertising whatsoever on the chat or forum for any other chat. We don't care if you talk about other places, just remember, no advertising, its rude to be stealing players from this chat or the other for that matter on their own public chat and forum.
- Last but not least, Screen Shot... this is the savior of all saviors. Have a problem, screen shot it. FPM it to the Storytellers, along with the room and date it occurred. Only the Chat Manager (NicNac) will have access to retrieving transcripts. If something needs to be investigated, make sure to provide your own screen shot with the date and room then the Admin and Storytellers will review it.
- We are giving all a fair warning here on Detroit: Final Nights, Transcripts are gone through the following day to retrieve scenes that are Storyteller/Narrator Ran, as well as retrieving the transcripts from the Elysiums and the Septs for as most are aware, no Prince or Grand Elder would not rely on what is available to them to keep watch over their territory/Domain. The Transcripts records everything - this includes Private Messages. We wished to make sure our players know this and that transcripts are gone through, not for reading purposes but for information collection on the locations and scenes mentioned above.
